A few phrases from people that have recommended Prashant Butani on LinkedIn, say a lot about his professional prowess.
• "Not afraid to step out of his comfort zone"
• "True asset to any consulting organization"
• "Passion for satellite technology"
After graduating with Distinction in Satellite Communications from University of Surrey, he spent three years in RF Engineering, Project Management and Pre-Sales roles at companies like Inmarsat, Avanti Communications and Bharti Airtel in the UK and in Saudi Arabia.
In his four years at Northern Sky Research, Prashant led consulting assignments for leading Satellite Operators, Satellite Primes and Equipment manufacturers in the industry. He also authored reports on markets such as Direct-to-Home, Satellite Manufacturing & Launch as well as excusively covered the Indian satellite geography for NSR.
True to the first comment above, Prashant currently sells International Telecom Services for Cable&Wireless Worldwide in the capacity of Global Account Manager. He is based out of Mumbai, India where he lives with his wife, son and parents. Post acquisition of Cable&Wireless, his next big challenge lies in selling true Mobile and Fixed Convergence under the Vodafone Group.

In almost the same time […]

In an industry that is always at the “cusp” of something and perpetually ripe for a “paradigm shift” NSR has adopted a cautiously optimistic stand to LEO constellations. This time around, the entry of […]
At first this seems like an unusual combination of continents to compare and contrast. Africa is about three times the population of South America, twice the area and more than one and half times more dense in terms of people per square kilometre. South America on the other hand, has a GDP per capita that […]
Direct-to-Home (DTH) subscriber growth in India is following a pattern set by Cellular Mobile Telephony subscribers in the region a few years ago. I don’t just hint towards the fact that the “Honeymoon” period is over and the general complaints have increased, although that is very much the case. Three trends clearly emerge: Subsidy on […]
