VSAT Latin America to examine the demand drivers for VSAT services in Latin America
Informa Telecoms & Media in partnership telecommunications consultancy company, COMSYS, have announced the agenda for the first ever VSAT Latin America event taking place from the 2 – 3 July 2013 at The Grand Hyatt Hotel, Sao Paulo, Brazil. The show will attract hundreds of satellite and telecoms professionals from across Latin America and beyond with two days of discussion and debate around the VSAT industry.
Support has already been confirmed from ANATEL , who will be Institutional Partner at the event alongside the GVF who are the Official Endorsing Association for the show. Advantech Wireless, Hughes, iDirect, Intelsat, Newtec, O3b Networks and SES have all confirmed their participation as Major Supporting Sponsors of the show.
Speakers confirmed so far for the two day conference include Simon Bull, Senior Consultant at COMSYS, Jorge Villarreal, CEO at Elara Comunicaciones, and Alexis Aguirre, Sales Engineering Manager for LATAM, British Telecom. Alexi s will be presenting a case study on BT VSAT deployments in Latin America, examining the large scale VSAT deployments for CAIXA & CORREIOS. Day 2 speakers include Rafael Guimaraes, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Hughes do Brasil and Martin Jarrold, Chief of International Programme Management at the GVF, both of whom will be focussing on public policy and regulation within the region and how this impacts upon the growth of VSAT services.
Also speaking on Day 2 is Serge Van Herck, CEO at Newtec and Rich Currier, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales at SSL. Both will participate in an interactive panel discussion focusing on ‘HTS & in the influx of bandwidth: reassessing the economics of the satellite industry’. The two day conference agenda will cover the most important topics affecting VSAT in the Latin America region including an in-depth look at VSAT Vertical Markets, trends in the global VSAT industry and how they affect the region, GSM backhaul and network extension, HTS and the influx of bandwidth alongside government regulation across Latin America.
The unique event aims to attract the entire satellite ecosystem from satellite manufacturers to end users in VSAT vertical markets and new dedicated networking sessions have been built into the programme to aid debate and discussion. The show also includes an interactive exhibition, co-located with Critical Communications Latin America, TV Connect Latin America and Broadband Latin America ensuring that no other event in the region encompasses more of the telecoms sector.
